The past month has been very busy with a trip to Liberia, Africa as well as Caucaia, Brazil. We seem to hear more and more stories recently of issues with international travel including major or minor plane crashes and difficult airport situations. We continue to ask God for travel safety and wisdom and covet your prayers for each trip. 

Liberia:

Jeff spent a week in Liberia training pastors and leaders in a place that has potential to be a new partnership. He and another partner trained approximately 300 people in church planting in 5 days. On the final day, when they concluded the training and commissioned the leaders to work at hand, there was such a strong excitement amongst the African leaders. There was a powerful sense of God's Spirit and a renewed urgency within the leaders to plant churches and reach the lost. Jeff described it as one of the most powerful nights in ministry he's experienced in years. Please pray for the brothers and sisters in Liberia, that their excitement for the Gospel will spread throughout their communities. 

Brazil:

We partnered with Segue Health to provide a free medical clinic in Caucaia and Paraipaba Brazil. The team consisted of 4 American doctors, 3 Brazilian doctors and MANY volunteers, and in 3 1/2 days, the team treated almost 800 patients! Most of the patients and their families  heard the gospel with an opportunity to respond. We heard from some of the patients that they would have had to wait almost a year to receive some of the tests and treatment they were able to receive.  We were thankful to not only provide medical care, but to tell them of the ultimate Healer and the gift of salvation. We were so excited to have our youngest daughter Lizzy join us for this trip! She is now fluent in Portuguese and was able to serve as a translator during the week. It was both a sweet visit and such a blessing to serve side by side with her. Our oldest, Anna, is finishing the school year and will spend most of the summer serving both in Africa and with us in Brazil as well. We are so thankful for how God is using our girls.
